I am so excited to talk to you about my new project, Tutor Menagerie!
Tutor Menagerie is a website that is meant to bring together tutors with students in my local area. I live in Valley Stream on Long Island, and the website currently focuses on tutors who service New York City and Long Island.
So far, the website is very basic. it is broken down into two main groups – tutors on Long Island, and tutors in New York City. The website also has a blog with feature tutors and other pertinent content!
Please visit the website and let me know what you think! This is the first business that I have created (along with my brother), and any advice would be wonderful.
Also, if you are interested in becoming a tutor on the site, please let me know!
I loved it. The meals were delicious, easy to cook, and just a little bit “different” and no like what I would usually cook. The package came in time and there were no issues with the packaging. All the food was very fresh.
I only have pictures of two of the meals. This is keema curry with naan. I had never made curry before and it was great! The portion was great, and the different spices really punched up the taste of the meat. My husband and I both loved it. The naan was very fresh and tasty as well. I am a sucker for good naan. It was real good. This meal was called Greek poutine. It was thinly sliced potatoes with deconstructed pork sausage (pork with lot of spices and red wine vinegar and orange juice) topped with feta sauce and arugula. It was so good! I had never mad anything like it.
The third me mealcwas glazed chicken with roasted Brussels sprouts and onion. The glaze was something I had never done before and it was really delicious. It mixed maple syrup with orange zest and a few other ingredients and the glaze cooked down in the pot. Yum. The glaze really elevated whatnwpuld have been just okay pan cooked chicken. Brussels sprouts and onions were of course food but I always make them.
Dan and I have recently started looking to buy a house and we are very conflicted about it.
On one hand, we really love where we live. We live in a two bedroom apartment in Astoria, across the street from Dan’s grandparents, and have a very sweet deal.
We know that we want to live in either Queens or Long island and have started to focus in on certain towns.
I however don’t know if I am ready to leave Astoria.
I am conflicted about moving to a house that we will have to pay a lot more per month for our mortgage. I am conflicted about moving farther away from the city. I am conflicted about whether we will be moving into the right town!
How will we know what house we want to buy? How do we know what the right neighborhood is? It is really very tough.
Port Washington is my favorite. It is a gorgeous town. Today we looked at a house, which was very nice. The main issue was that it only had one bathroom! Granted, the bathroom was very large, but I think that a family need more than one toilet!!! I can think of many instances where Dan and I had to go to the bathroom at the same time. What happens when you add one or two kids into the mix?
Dan is more into north flushing, in Queens, because he is obsessed with the like 22 minute commute to get into the city. The houses are beautiful, but there is definitely much less of a town than Port Washington.
