Some of my previous posts praised hello fresh and other meal box companies. However, I was very disappointed in my last interaction with them.
I had the hello fresh app on my phone, and I (I guess stupidly) trusted the application every week to notify me to choose my meals, so I would have the chance to either choose my meals for the week or skip that week.
The app must have logged itself out, because on Sunday, my husband checked our credit card statement and he saw a 69.00 charge from Hello Fresh. He knew I would have told him if I had ordered from them, because I hadn’t been – I had been doing menu planning myself each week, and that had been going really well.
I first tried to log in to see the meals – and that is when I noticed that I had been logged out and they were meals that I would absolutely not have chosen. Customer service was closed, so I immediately emailed them. The next morning I called, and I was not treated very respectfully. I explained what happened, how I had ordered multiple times and even sent them two referrals, and I was just asking them to please cancel my order BECAUSE I HAD NOT ORDERED IT OR AUTHORIZED IT . They said no and offered either half refund or a new box. I just opted for the new box BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO GET ME THE REFUND OF WHAT I DIDN’T ORDER. Once I got the new box, I canceled Hello Fresh. I think they have a good product but I just did not like the way that I was treated on the phone. They were very unkind and rude to me. I thought that what they should have done, if they wanted to keep a customer, was to refund me the whole box that I did not order. I will never be using them again.
I imagine that they get a lot of revenue from people who make the same mistake as me. 😦
