I loved it. The meals were delicious, easy to cook, and just a little bit “different” and no like what I would usually cook. The package came in time and there were no issues with the packaging. All the food was very fresh.
I only have pictures of two of the meals. This is keema curry with naan. I had never made curry before and it was great! The portion was great, and the different spices really punched up the taste of the meat. My husband and I both loved it. The naan was very fresh and tasty as well. I am a sucker for good naan. It was real good. This meal was called Greek poutine. It was thinly sliced potatoes with deconstructed pork sausage (pork with lot of spices and red wine vinegar and orange juice) topped with feta sauce and arugula. It was so good! I had never mad anything like it.
The third me mealcwas glazed chicken with roasted Brussels sprouts and onion. The glaze was something I had never done before and it was really delicious. It mixed maple syrup with orange zest and a few other ingredients and the glaze cooked down in the pot. Yum. The glaze really elevated whatnwpuld have been just okay pan cooked chicken. Brussels sprouts and onions were of course food but I always make them.
Last night I decided to try to make a whole dinner out of recipes that I have never tried before. I had bought riced califlower at Trader Joe’s because I had heard all about it from health and cooking magazines and blogs that I read online. For the califlower rice I first chopped up an onion and sautéed it in some olive oil. I then added in the califlower and some more olive oil and sautéed that. I topped it off with some lemon juice.
For the buffalo chicken nuggets I followed a skinny taste recipe. Here is a picture of the finished product:The chicken nuggets came out so so good. I even had some left over to take to lunch today. They were just a little bit spicy. I made a dipping sauce by mixing together mustard, honey, mayo and lemon juice. Yummmmy. I served everything with a side of steamed broccoli.
I was not a big fan of the califlower rice. I am willing to try it again, but it just was not satisfying like rice or pasta would be. I saw a recipe for califlower fried rice and I might try that out.
Tonight I am making shrimp. I will share my experience either later or tomorrow! ❤️💕. Anyone have an fabulous links for shrimp recipes?
Tonight for dinner I made langostinos. You can get them at the frozen section of Trader Joe’s. They taste like a mix between shrimp and lobster. Yum!!!
I made a very simple recipe that I made by looking at some other people’s recipes and using what I liked and leaving out what I didn’t.
First I started to thaw the langostinos in a bowl of warm water. I chopped up a red onion. I used preminced garlic. I heated up some olive oil and some butter in a pan and added in the onion and garlic. I added in half a cup of my favorite wine, dry Riesling. I then added the langostinos. They were still semi frozen, oh well.
While this was being prepared I had set a pot of salted water to boil. I threw in pasta. This time it was orecchiette. I let the wine sauce simmer for a while while I nursed the baby upstairs. I microwaved some frozen broccoli as an easy side dish. That I tossed with olive and grated parmigiana reggiano.
On a side note, baby is obsessed with this banana toothbrush. I brush her teeth with it and she gives me the biggest smile.
